Retrofitting consists of removing the internal combustion engine and tank from a vehicle and replacing them with an electric motor and a battery.
A trend that is gaining momentum, so much so that Renault has decided to officially partner with the R-Fit company to offer kits on certain iconic models in its history.
€11,900 per kit
R4, R5 and first generation Twingo are the three lucky winners.
The R4 kit is already available, at a price of €11,900 (installation included).
That of the R5 will be offered from September, and the Twingo will come a little later.
This offer makes it possible to benefit in France from the subsidies provided for electric cars, and the retrofitted vehicle has official certificates identifying it as electric.
