According to Peter Abramo, principal at the school, the masked person had with him a fire extinguisher that did not belong to the school.

He then squirted the contents into a teacher's face.

The person then proceeded to spray the contents in classrooms and hallways.

- A masked youth entered the school.

We do not know if it is an external youth or one of our students.

He had some kind of masking of his face so that only his eyes were visible, says Peter Abramo, assistant principal F-9 at Bergaskolan.

The masked person also sprayed down one of Bergaskolan's corridors with the powder fire extinguisher.

- The teacher is feeling very bad, incredibly cut, so we are trying to help her in the best way possible, says Peter Abramo.

Afterwards, the young man is said to have left the scene.

How could this happen?

- The school itself is not locked, we have many entrances and we try to keep track of who could get in here.

We still haven't got a monitoring system up and running.

Police on site

Information abounds among students that it is about several masked youths who entered the school.

The police are now collecting witnesses.

- Someone must have emptied a powder fire extinguisher in a classroom.

We have been on site and will draw up a report, says Jimmy Modin, at the police command centre.

The high school students were allowed to go home after the incident, while students in younger grades have gathered in their classes to get information about the incident.

The school's crisis team has been activated.

- I am shocked, I find it incredibly unpleasant.

It hurts to see that it can happen at school.
