A residence for young RATP workers (18-30 years old) will officially open its doors next March.

Managed by the Association for the Housing of Young Workers (ALJT), it is located in Montrouge (Hauts-de-Seine), above the Barbara metro station on line 4, report Les Echos.

The building will offer 39 apartments from studios to two-room apartments as well as collective spaces.

The 5.7 million euro project was mainly supported by RATP Habitat.

The latter was able to count on the support of the Ile-de-France Region, the Family Allowance Fund, the town hall of Montrouge and the State.

Low rents

On average, rents will be less than 605 euros all inclusive.

RATP's objective is to enhance and transform its land, but also meet recruitment needs.

"To recruit, in our jobs in tension - drivers, security, maintenance -, it is necessary to be able to provide a housing solution", summarizes the real estate director of the RATP group.

The company already manages 8,800 housing units in Ile-de-France.

Thus, 36% of the apartments of the future residence will be reserved for employees of the Parisian management.

The others will be made available to tenants offered by the State or local authorities.
