“In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and positions during offensive operations.

It is specified that during the day in the indicated direction, Russian troops destroyed more than 40 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the morning of January 26, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces had entrenched themselves on the outskirts of Vugledar, and fighting was underway.

Air defense systems of the Russian Armed Forces shot down a Su-25 aircraft in the Ugledar region.

Advisor to the head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, noted earlier that the assault on Vugledar was complicated by a large number of mines with associated underground infrastructure.
