The journalist recalled that the Russian nuclear industry is represented by 350 enterprises with more than 250 thousand employees.

Russia is the world's recognized supplier of unique uranium enrichment technologies and the largest fuel exporter.

According to Bravo, the United States alone imported over 550 tons of uranium worth $645 million in 2021.

In addition, Russia is involved in major foreign projects for the construction of nuclear power plants - for example, in Turkey, Belarus, India, Hungary, Bangladesh, China and Egypt.

As the observer noted, it was for this reason that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban opposed sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry because of the possible tragic consequences.

“Thus, it is not clear whether the new sanctions against Russia will be effective.

At the same time, restrictions on the nuclear industry will turn against the European countries themselves,” summed up Bravo.

Poland has previously proposed new anti-Russian sanctions to the European Union, including restrictions in the field of nuclear energy.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that the new EU sanctions package could include measures against Rosatom and Minsk.

His Hungarian colleague Peter Szijjártó called the tenth package of sanctions against Russia "a huge mistake."
