Al-Jazeera correspondent in the Gaza Strip said that a number of rockets were fired from the Strip, while the Israeli Iron Dome system tried to intercept them, in light of the largest Israeli escalation since the beginning of the year, as the occupation forces stormed Jenin and its camp and killed nine Palestinians.

The Israeli army spokesman announced the activation of warning sirens in the city of Ashkelon and in some towns around the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation also stated that the Iron Dome intercepted two missiles fired from the Gaza Strip, without causing any injuries or damage.

Yesterday morning, the Israeli occupation forces launched a major military operation inside the city of Jenin and its refugee camp in the West Bank, which, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, resulted in the death of 9 Palestinians, including an elderly woman, and the injury of dozens of them, some of whom were in serious condition.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that the military operation targeted 3 wanted persons from the Islamic Jihad movement.

The "Jenin Brigade", "Al-Aqsa Martyrs" and "Al-Qassam Brigades" said that its fighters had engaged in violent clashes with the occupation, which announced the end of the operation hours later.

For his part, the spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, confirmed that security cooperation with Israel no longer exists. Abu Rudeineh said that Palestine will go to the International Criminal Court to add the Jenin massacre file to the previous files, and that it will take action at all levels for the sake of the Palestinian people.

In turn, the Palestinian factions threatened the Israeli army after the Jenin operation.

The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Ziyad al-Nakhala, said that the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people will not stop the resistance, and that the fighters of the Palestinian people will remain in the field.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said that the occupation army will not succeed in breaking the will of the Palestinian people. Saleh Al-Arouri, deputy head of the movement's political bureau, said that the occupation will pay the price for the massacre it carried out in Jenin and its camp, and that the resistance's response will not be delayed.

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the UAE, China and France officially requested the President of the UN Security Council to hold closed consultations for the Council on Friday regarding the developments in Jenin.

For his part, the Palestinian delegate to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, said that Palestine calls for an emergency session of the Security Council on Jenin.

He added, in response to a question by Al-Jazeera, that the Security Council should move in this regard within the framework of the decisions of the Council itself, the resolutions of the General Assembly, and the recommendations of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
