Members of the Civil Guard

have arrested a monitor

as the alleged perpetrator of the

sexual abuse

denounced by a group of adolescents, between the ages of 13 and 14, students of the Institute of Secondary Education in the Zaragoza town of La Muela.

The events, which are now being investigated, occurred during a tour of the center on the occasion of the white snow week, between Tuesday the 17th and Friday the 20th of January, to enjoy skiing at the

Candanchú

resort in the Aragonese Pyrenees.

The alleged perpetrator of the abuses, a 25-year-old young man, was arrested this Wednesday in the Huesca town of Jaca, where he would currently have his home, and remains in the Civil Guard cells waiting to go to court.

Meanwhile, those affected, at least a dozen,

most of them girls

, although a boy has also joined the complaint, have given a statement at the Zaragoza Command.

They have had the support of the Aragonese Women's Institute which, according to sources from the Government of Aragon, has provided them with psychological and legal assistance after activating the corresponding protocol in cases of sexual abuse and assault.

The students of the IES de La Muela traveled to the Aragonese Pyrenees last week with the intention of practicing skiing at the Candanchú station.

To do this,

they stayed in a youth hostel

in the nearby town of Villanúa in Huesca.

A company specializing in leisure activities, to which the detainee belongs, was in charge of his accommodation and of scheduling his ski lessons.

Apparently, those affected spent a lot of time with the monitor now being investigated, since, in addition to being with them in the shelter, he was one of the people who accompanied them every day to the slopes.

The case is in

the first phase of the investigation

, led by the magistrate of the Investigating Court of Jaca, so not many details of the facts have been revealed.

However, as published this Thursday by 'Heraldo.es', the schoolchildren would have spoken, in the complaint filed by their parents, of sexual abuse in the form of hugs, caresses, kisses and groping without consent, without actually mediating violence.

Said abuses would have taken place in the shelter where the minors affected were staying.
