Qatar and Italy launched a ship called "Al-Falak", which is a transport and strategic support ship, and it will be unique in terms of its size and capabilities in the Gulf.

The Al Falak will be the flagship ship of the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces.

As it has various capabilities in supporting the land and air forces, such as air defense and transportation of vehicles and soldiers, and it can receive NH90 helicopters.

The ship was inaugurated at the Fincantieri factory in the Italian city of Palermo, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Qatari Defense Affairs Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah and Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosito.

On the Qatari side, the ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Italy, Khaled bin Youssef Al-Sada, Commander of the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces, Major General (Navy) Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Sulaiti, and the Qatari military attache to Italy, Major General (Navy) Hilal bin Ali Al-Muhannadi, as well as a number of officials. Senior officers in the Qatari Armed Forces.

On the Italian side, Claudio Graziano, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fincantieri Company, and a number of the company's managers attended.
