On the initiative of the Française des Jeux, it is now possible to pay your rent at a tobacconist.
For the moment, 150,000 households across France are affected by this initiative.
These are the tenants of four major social landlords: HLM Seqens, Dynacité Logement, Côté d'Azur Habitat and Limoges Habitat.
To take advantage of it, the process is relatively simple.

An application to download on your smartphone
To do this, you must download the Nirio application on your smartphone.
Then, you have to scan the invoice and you directly receive a QR code to show to the tobacconists, at the same time as your identity document.
Once verified, payment can be made in cash or by credit card.
The idea of this service is to reassure the most cautious people about direct debit.
"It is estimated that around 20% of the French population does not already have this facility with digital", notes Philippe Alauze, secretary general of the Federation of tobacconists of Île-de-France, at the microphone of Europe 1 "There are people who also want to recreate the link, find an actor in front of them. It materializes through a local business", he underlines.
Settling your electricity or gas bills, soon possible?
It is also possible, depending on the lessor, to split the payment.
And this solution gives ideas since tobacconists and FDJ plan to go even further, according to Philippe Alauze.
"At the counter of a tobacconist, with the Nirio application, (customers) may later be able to pay their electricity bill, gas, or car rental", he lists , suggesting that future users "don't forget to pay the small coffee to the merchant who presented all these services".
