On February 12, Berliners will elect a new House of Representatives.

Because many problems and errors arose in the 2021 election, the Berlin Constitutional Court ordered a complete repetition.

Berlin's governing mayor Franziska Giffey (SPD), who currently governs in a coalition with the Greens and the Left Party, wants to defend the Red City Hall.

The Greens also want to continue the coalition with the SPD and the Left - but they hope that this will happen under the leadership of their top candidate Bettina Jarasch.

In the Wahl-O-Mat, voters can use 38 theses to compare their political stance with the party programs.

The topics range from climate neutrality and free public transport to New Year's Eve fireworks and skilled workers from abroad to family portraits.

According to the Berlin State Center for Civic Education, 31 of 33 parties that are running with a district or state list for the repeat election to the House of Representatives have commented on the Wahl-O-Mat theses.

For the election of the Berlin House of Representatives in 2023, some theses were newly developed at the end of 2022, other theses come from the Wahl-O-Mat Berlin 2021. The Wahl-O-Mat of the Federal Agency for Civic Education has existed since 2002.

In the last two Berlin elections, the Wahl-O-Mat was used around a million times.
