The bodies of a young man and a young woman, aged 23 and 22 respectively, were found late Tuesday afternoon lying in their apartment in Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute- Provence), reports

It was friends worried about not having any more news from this couple who made the macabre discovery.
A murder investigation has been opened by the Digne prosecution.
She was entrusted to the urban security brigade.
For the time being, the investigators do not favor either of the two plausible tracks: a double homicide or a murder followed by a suicide.
The causes of the death of the young woman will have to be determined by an examination at the Forensic Institute of Marseille.
The young man, meanwhile, is believed to have died of a gunshot wound.
