When covid-19 was at its worst, it was distance studies that applied to most high school students.

That solution far from suited everyone, and many students fell behind with their schoolwork and got worse grades.

In order to give the young people who did not pass their high school diploma a second chance, the coordinating association RAR (Rehabilitate and Activate with Common Resources), with EU money as support, launched the initiative React.

In the county's nine municipalities, young people have now been given the opportunity to return to the school desk to read up on subjects and to receive guidance about future studies or jobs.

Get support with school work

In Strängnäs, React is located in a basement that belongs to Thomasgymnasiet.

Here, the young people in the project have received support with their schoolwork and also received individually adapted advice for the future.

- You need a clear platform for adulthood, says Peter Hult who is project manager for React at Thomasgymnasiet.
