Accused of sexism, stand up!

On the occasion of the sixth day against sexism, this Wednesday, the collective "Together against sexism", bringing together around forty associations and feminist bodies, is holding a fictitious trial of sexism, with judge, prosecutor, lawyers.

At the helm, great witnesses and experts to shed light on the debates.

Among them, Laurence Rossignol, vice-president of the Senate and former minister, Dr Kpote, prevention facilitator in schools, our journalist Anne-Laëtitia Béraud, creator and host of the podcast Tout Sexplication, or Lucile Peytavin, author of

The cost of virility, what France would save if men behaved like women

(ed. Anne Carrière).

Isabelle Rome, Minister responsible for Gender Equality, will conclude the debates.

Young men who feel “weakened”

In a report published Monday by the High Council for Equality (HCE), the independent body, which participates in this event, believes that "sexism is not declining in France".

She regrets that “the younger generations are the most affected”.

Among those under 35, one in four men believe that sometimes you have to be violent to gain respect.

Violence that is organized online, by “masculinist raids” “to silence women or discredit them”, but also in “IRL”, “real” life.

“The new generation” would also feel “weakened” as a man by the #MeToo speech liberation movement.

For 9 out of 10 women surveyed, sexism leads to daily renunciations, such as going out, doing activities alone, or dressing as they wish.
