This 52-year-old woman, mother of two, was found "slaughtered" on January 12, four days after the fact, said deputy prosecutor Philippe Sabatier.
A former companion of the victim had alerted the police and the emergency services, worried about not hearing from him.
The defendant recognizes the fatal stab wounds
Arrested on January 15 and presented to the Boulogne-sur-Mer investigating judge two days later, the victim's companion was indicted for murder of a spouse and imprisoned.
“There was a brawl between them and, according to the explanations he gave, he grabbed a knife and beat her to death,” explained the deputy prosecutor, indicating that the respondent "recognized indeed to be the author of the blows which caused the death".
