The Civil Guard has reported that the DNA tests carried out on the corpse found buried a meter and a half deep in a farm in Pontons, owned by the suspect, correspond to his partner Ruth RP, 42 years old.

The suspect allegedly ended her life in the summer of 2021 at her home in Barcelona, ​​dismembered it to keep it in a freezer and decided to bury her body at the end of last year on this land that he had bought.

It was precisely an investigation by the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard when it found an unusual movement of land on a farm in Pontons that uncovered the crime.

The agents thought that an animal had been buried and right next to lavender flowers, but suspecting that it could be a human body, the exhumation was ordered.

The Court of Instruction number 4 of Villafranca del Penedés authorized the excavation and inspection of the place with a backhoe and the body of a person was discovered in several plastic bags at a depth of more than a meter and a half, which corresponded to that of a women.

That same day, Ferrandis, the owner of the land, was arrested as a suspect in the death and ended up confessing himself.

The court ordered his entry into provisional prison communicated and without bail.

Now, the genetic tests carried out in the laboratories of the Criminalistics Service of the Civil Guard on the corpse found on January 3 in Pontons indicate that they correspond to the detainee's partner, Ruth RP, 42 years old and a resident of Barcelona.

The Civil Guard indicates that the investigation is still open.

The agents inspected two of the defendant's homes in Barcelona and suspect that he killed her in one.

They also found tools and utensils likely to have been used to excavate the land.

There was no history of gender violence in the couple.
