The Ukrainian leader has decided to reshape his government to tackle the corruption problem faced by some of its members.

The Deputy Heads of State for the Maritime and River Service, Anatoliy Ivankevych, and for Transport, Viktor Vyshnyo, were also dismissed.

As reported by local agencies, the heads of the military administrations of the Dnipropetrovsk regions, Valentyn Reznichenko;

Zaporizhia, Oleksandr Starukh;

kyiv, Oleksii Kuleba;

Sumy, Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, and Kherson, Yaroslav Yanushevych.

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced that Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksii Symonenko was also dismissed.

In the case of Shapovalov, the scandal has to do with fraud in the acquisition of food for the Armed Forces.

The BBC pointed out that the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Vasyl Lozinskyi, was also fired and detained by the police after being accused of accepting a bribe worth 400,000 dollars (320,000 euros).

Lozinskyi denied the charges.

The same outlet highlights that Ukraine has a history of corruption and that in 2021 Transparency International ranked the country 122 out of 180 countries in its ranking of corrupt states.
