Police officers got their hands on almost 40 kg of drugs in an apartment in a residence in Les Ulis (Essonne), on January 16, reports

It was during a routine visit to the premises that the officers began to have doubts.

“They smelled a strong smell of narcotics from the lobby,” a police source told our colleagues.

Returning a little later with a judicial police officer and a drug detection dog, they discovered 28.5 kg of cannabis resin, 8 kg of herbal cannabis, 2.2 kg of cocaine and 4,420 euros in cash.

A man charged

The apartment was then unoccupied but after an investigation, a 19-year-old man was arrested.

He was going back and forth in the building and was known to the local crime squad.

The suspect was charged and remanded in custody.

The tenant of the apartment, he showed up the next day at the police station but came out free.

There is no evidence of his involvement in the facts.
