A 28-year-old man appeared on Monday before the Angers criminal court (Maine-et-Loire) for kidnapping and death threats against a minor.
He is suspected of having kidnapped a 14-year-old teenager who, according to him, stole a buggy and a quad from his garage, reports Ouest France.
After threatening a first teenager on January 14 with a knife, the defendant would have obtained the name of the victim.
She was abducted from a car two days later by the suspect and an accomplice as she was leaving college.
Three years in prison required
Taken to an abandoned house in the forest, the teenager was reportedly locked in the cellar and threatened on several occasions, in particular with a weapon.
The defendant finally returned the child to his mother.
The public prosecutor requested against him three years in prison and a ban on contact with the victim and his mother.
The case has been adjourned to February 15.
The defendant, already on an electronic bracelet as part of another procedure, remains in pre-trial detention.
