There are no signs of either an explosion or a collision in connection with the sinking of the Estonia.

This was determined by the accident commission on Monday in a preliminary report.

The conclusions in the report are based, among other things, on a new 3D model of the wreck and the bedrock on the bottom it rests on.

The model, built from 45,000 high-resolution photographs taken by underwater drones, has allowed investigators to study the wreck millimeter by millimeter.
