An 85-year-old man is suspected of having killed his son with a shotgun this Saturday in Dordogne.

The facts occurred around 8 am, at a place called La Robertie, in the town of Salagnac, reports France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

The drama was tied in the house shared by the father and the victim, aged around sixty.

Not present at the time of the tragedy, it was another son of the suspect who would have warned the emergency services, specifies France Bleu Périgord.

Prolonged custody

The suspect was immediately taken into custody by the police.

This was extended by 24 hours on Sunday, indicates Sud Ouest.

According to our colleagues, the suspect should be presented this Monday to the Périgueux prosecutor's office, which has opened an investigation for intentional homicide.

The octogenarian could be indicted for murder.

The circumstances of the facts remain to be determined.
