The documentary film 'Kim Bok-dong', which deals with the life of the late comfort woman victim Kim Bok-dong, was screened for the first time in Japan on the 21st (local time).

About 500 citizens attended the screening held at 7:00 p.m. yesterday at the Nakano Zero Cultural Center in Nakano-ku, Tokyo.

The movie 'Kim Bok-dong' contains the life of Grandmother Kim who struggled to receive Japan's apology for the comfort women issue until she passed away in January 2019 at the age of 93.

The movie 'Kim Bok-dong' was released in Korea in 2019, but it was only this time that it was screened in Japan due to the Corona 19 incident.

After the screening, Korean and Japanese officials, including director Song Won-geun, who directed the film, and Asako Natsui, a film director who has been promoting the issue of comfort women for the Japanese military to young Japanese people, had a conversation with the audience.

Regarding the most impressive part of the movie, Director Natsui said, "The part where Grandmother Kim Bok-dong says, 'If you apologize, I will forgive you.' .

The movie 'Kim Bok-dong' will be screened sequentially until May in eight locations across Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe on the 28th, Saga on the 29th, and Hiroshima on the 4th of next month.
