The US judiciary found six additional secret documents in the home of US President Joe Biden, following the disclosure of information circulating in the same orbit in recent days that embarrassed Biden and put the White House in a very delicate position.

"The Department of Justice acquired materials it considered within the scope of its investigation, including six items consisting of classified documents," Bob Bauer, Biden's personal attorney, said in a statement, during a search of President Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware.

Power explained that the aforementioned documents are related to two stages of the political life of the 80-year-old Democratic president, his long career as a senator from Delaware, which lasted more than 30 years, and his assumption of the presidency under Barack Obama between 2009 and 2017.

And Biden, through his lawyer, previously acknowledged on January 9 that documents were found in November in his former office at a Washington think tank, and three days later the Democratic president acknowledged finding other sensitive files inside his home in Wilmington.

A law issued in 1978 requires US presidents and their deputies to hand over all their e-mail, regular mail, and other documents related to their work to the National Archives, and the issue seems embarrassing to Biden, especially since he intends to announce his candidacy for a second presidential term in 2024.

During a visit to California a few days ago, Biden tried to downplay the uproar that arose about finding these documents, and in response to a question about this subject put to him by reporters, Biden said: “We found some documents that were stored in the wrong place and immediately handed them over to the archives department.” and the Ministry of Justice.

We are fully cooperating and look forward to resolving this matter quickly.”

He added, “I think you will discover that there is nothing.

I have no regrets.

I do what the lawyers said they wanted me to do.

This is exactly what we do.”

Biden's lawyers confirmed that the 46th President of the United States unintentionally kept these documents, and stressed that they cooperate fully with the judiciary.

It is noteworthy that there is another investigation involving former US President Donald Trump against the backdrop of his transfer of boxes containing official documents to his home in Florida, and although there is a relative discrepancy between the two cases, the crisis of new secret documents is not in the interest of Biden, who presents himself as a strict president who adheres to the rules.

And US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he had appointed an independent prosecutor to investigate the case of documents found with Biden, just as he did in the case facing Trump, in order to dispel suspicions of double standards.
