Toledo The human remains found in the landfill correspond to Ángel, the minor under 11 years of age who disappeared with his cousin in Madrid
The National Police have found this Saturday
a torso in the Toledo landfill where they were still looking for
the remains of Ángel, the 11-year-old boy who disappeared, after having found a foot on January 11 of which the
DNA tests confirmed
that they corresponded to the minor .
Police sources have explained to EFE that the torso was found this morning in the Ecoparque de Toledo landfill, where they were still looking for remains of the body of Ángel,
who disappeared more than a month ago
along with his cousin Fernando, 17, whose body was found in the same facility.
Although the
death of the two minors
has already been certified , the Police will continue working to find more remains of the child's body, as well as to clarify the causes of death of both.
The Police focused on that
surface area similar to a soccer field
since Fernando's body appeared in the Ecoparque in Toledo on December 15, five days after the disappearance of both cousins.
The investigators followed the
trace of the collection of waste
among which Fernando's body was found, since they thought that the minor could also be found there.
The families of the two minors
have appeared as private prosecutors
in the judicial proceeding, which is being investigated in the Examining Court number 3 of Toledo, and which continues under summary secrecy.
The search for the remains of little Ángel began on December 27 and members of the Judicial Police, canine handlers, the Technical Intervention Operational Group (GOIT) and the Scientific Police with backhoes and auxiliary machinery participated in it, and
on the 11th January found a foot
.
The last time both were seen was on the afternoon of December 10, when they told the father of the eldest that
they were going to buy some sandwiches at the Hiper Usera
on General Ricardos street, but they never returned.
Their disappearance was voluntary, as the security cameras captured them in several Metro and bus stations in Madrid,
until that same night they arrived in Toledo,
where they were recorded in the vicinity of a hotel and in a shopping center.
According to police inquiries, Fernando went to the Toledo capital with his little cousin to
meet a girl
with whom he had had a romantic relationship.
It was not the first time.
However, the cousins' trail was lost until Fernando's body appeared five days later in the
Ecoparque in Toledo
, showing no signs of violence and, according to the preliminary results of the autopsy, he died of suffocation.
In the investigation, several hypotheses are being considered,
including that of a possible accidental death
from having tried to shelter from the cold in a garbage container, something that the family of the minors does not believe.
