A thin blanket of snow lies over the Old Cemetery in central Uppsala.

At the graves of Fadime Sahindal and sister Songül, the national organization GAPF (Never Forget Pela and Fadime) holds the annual wreath-laying in memory of the anniversary of Fadime's shooting death by his own father.

Her lawyer, Leif Ericksson, has difficulty holding back tears when he speaks.

- The killer thought he had silenced her, but just look here today - it was just the opposite, he says.

"You get angry"

Another speaker is the Minister for Gender Equality, Paulina Brandberg (L).

- It's incredibly sad and you get angry when you think about how she was taken away, she says.

Paulina Brandberg herself has a background as a prosecutor and says that through this she has met people and seen the lack of freedom that many people in Sweden live in.
