told in its columns the story of a cat on which a train deliberately ran over, after learning that it had nestled under the tracks, to avoid causing a delay.

The scene occurred on January 2 at Montparnasse station in Paris, where Georgina and her daughter Melaïna had gone to return to Bordeaux, after spending the holidays in the capital.

In a satchel their cat, Neko, who escapes and takes refuge under the train.

For twenty minutes, the two women try to delay the train, and to call the cat, which does not seem to move.

The mother also tries to speak to the driver, but the staff refuses.

Then Melaïna sees her cat running when the train starts, and the worst happens: the cat is cut in two, she sees her limbs "separated", according to the newspaper.

SNCF says it is "affected" by the accident

This story has sparked many reactions of indignation on social networks.

“It happens to one of my cats, I swear to you, I destroy the SNCF by myself.

"I want these agents to be heavily convicted of animal murder," said another.

“The SNCF voluntarily let a cat die cut in 2 by a stationary train, and this in front of these humans, including a child.

I would have freaked out, ” enrages another.

, the SNCF confirms the accident: “Unfortunately, the cat escaped from its owner's bag, the zipper of which was ajar, without of course that she did it on purpose.

She justifies her decision by explaining that it is “strictly forbidden to go down on the tracks, which would endanger the lives of the two travelers or our agents.

Railway installations are dangerous when you are no longer on a platform and safety is our first priority.

A train parked in a station is indeed always supplied with electricity and the risks of electrocution are real.

On the "feelings" side, the company makes a speech that seems to be the opposite of what happened on site, saying that it is "touched" by this event, showing its "support" and adding: "Be well aware that the SNCF is concerned about the animal cause and the safety of pets traveling by train and that this is in no way a situation that leaves us insensitive.

Except when starting a train.
