According to RIA Novosti with reference to German television, an unexploded 500-kilogram bomb was found during repair work in the Frintrop area in the city of Essen.
The authorities evacuated 3.3 thousand people who live in close proximity to the place where the projectile was found.
Another 480 people were forced to leave their homes in Oberhausen, as a bomb was found on the border with this city.
Earlier in Freiburg, Germany, 4,000 people were evacuated because of a bomb from the war.
