Bella Kurkova graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Leningrad University.

In 1991, she was director of the Leningrad directorate of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, in 2000 she held the position of director of the St. Petersburg directorate of the Kultura channel, and later received the position of deputy editor-in-chief for work with the city of St. Petersburg of the main editorial office of the channel.
