The State of Qatar topped the list of the safest countries in the world for the fifth year in a row, according to the Numbeo database, whose statistics included 142 countries.

Qatar achieved 85.2 points on the safe countries index for the year 2023 according to Nambio, followed by the UAE, Taiwan, Isle of Man, Oman, Hong Kong, Armenia, Japan, Switzerland and Bahrain in the top ten.

Nambio is concerned with assessing the degree of safety in the countries of the world, and has issued its reports annually since 2009, based on monitoring crime rates according to the laws of each country.

Qatar's superiority according to this indicator is an extension of what it has recorded in the past years, as it has maintained first place in the Arab world since 2015, and has topped the list globally since 2019.

Qatar also scored advanced positions according to other indicators, as it ranked first in the Arab world and 23rd globally in the index of the safest and most socially peaceful countries for the year 2022 out of 163 countries, according to the report of the Institute of Economics and Peace in Australia, which was published last June.
