- Broadly speaking, throughout the county, we see declining levels in our waterways.
In some places clearly, says Samuel Nyström who is on-duty rescue manager in Jönköping County.
But in Storån, which, among other things, runs through Hillerstorp, the level has continued to rise slightly during the day, and there several properties are partially under water.
The river in Emån - there is a risk of flooding
Snowmelt and heavy rain have recently led to high flows in watercourses mainly in the western parts of Jönköping County.
In the eastern part, in the Emån's catchment area, the addition of water, on the other hand, has been very welcome.
Last year the flow was very low there and the current supply of water means that the level in 2023 may be more normal.
At the same time, there is now also a risk of flooding there as the levels have risen a lot in recent days.
- It has previously been quite calm in the eastern parts, with the Emå system.
But now we see an increased flow, says Samuel Nyström.
