Women in the spotlight at the Galerie Roger-Viollet, the first retrospective in France of the work of South African artist Zanele Muholi at the MEP, the "Circulation(S)" festival of young European photography at the Centquatre, Elliott Erwitt at the Maillol Museum… This beginning of the year promises to be rich in photo exhibitions in Paris.

The Jeu de Paume, the Robert Doisneau House and the Toit de la Grande Arche also offer an interesting program for lovers of the 8th art.

  • Until January 27, the Galerie VU' hosts the exhibition of the winner of the third edition of the Caritas Photo Sociale Prize 2022, Cyril Zannettacci, as well as the two finalists, Karen Assayag and Pierre Jarlan.

  • Since January 7, the Roof of the Grande Arche has hosted the exhibition “Notre Dame, Versailles, The City of 4000: Secrets of our Heritage”, by photographer Jean-Gabriel Barthélemy.

  • The Roger-Viollet Gallery presents from January 26 to March 25, 2023 the exhibition “A Photographic History of Women in the 20th Century”.

  • The history of women in the 20th century is that of their emancipation.

    More than sixty contemporary prints will be exhibited at the Galerie Roger-Viollet.

  • From February 1 to May 25, the European House of Photography (MEP) presents the first retrospective in France dedicated to Zanele Muholi, an internationally renowned South African photographer and activist, whose work documents the life of the black LGBTQIA + community and individuals who constitute it.

  • This event brings together more than 200 photographs, videos and installations created since the early 2000s, as well as numerous archival documents by the artist born on July 19, 1972.

  • From March 10 to June 4, the Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau exhibits the work of photographer Thomas Boivin in the

    Belleville

    series .

  • Mainly photographing the north-east of Paris, in Paris (Belleville, Place de la République) as well as in the suburbs and working mainly in black & white, Thomas Boivin pays particular attention to the portrait and the human figure.

  • From March 23 to August 15, the Maillol Museum honors photographer Elliott Erwitt, 94, and member of the Magnum Photos agency since the 1950s.

  • American photographer of Russian origin, having grown up in Italy and France, Elliott Erwitt is particularly renowned for his street scenes but also for his shots of famous personalities.

  • The thirteenth edition of the “Circulation(s)” festival dedicated to young European photography will take place from March 25 to May 21, at Centquartre-Paris.

  • For two months, the public will be able to discover exhibitions presenting the work of 27 young artists from all over Europe with a spotlight on the Bulgarian art scene.

  • From June 13 to September 17, the Jeu de Paume will show the work of Franck Horvat (1928-2020).

    A renewed vision of the first fifteen years of the photographer's career, from 1950 to 1965, a period during which he asserted the personality of author-reporter and fashion photographer.

  • Made from the important archives and writings left by the photographer in his home-studio in Boulogne-Billancourt, the exhibition will include more than 250 prints and documents from the period.
