Terminale students and retraining students can, from this Wednesday, indicate their training wishes on the Parcoursup platform.

They have until March 9 to enter all of their wishes.

A complicated period of choice, both for future students but also for their parents, who try to guide them through the jungle of professional course offers. 

Salesman, engineer, doctor... Sometimes it's hard to choose what you want to do when you're 17.

And yet, with the opening of the Parcoursup platform this Wednesday, this is what Terminale students will have to do.

They have until March 9 to indicate their study wishes on the site.

A "stress machine" for students, who in a few months must decide on their orientation and choose a vocational training.

It is also a source of anxiety for their parents, who try somehow to support their children, trying to find out about the courses, and the "good strategies" to adopt to be accepted by an establishment. selective.

“We try not to show that we are stressed…”

So, tension rises in families, especially when the youngster is undecided. This is the case for Magalie's daughter, in Angers.

"It's always the same observation", explains this mother, quoting the words of her teenager: "But Mom, how do you want me to do knowing that I don't know what to do?".

She continues: "It's complicated so we accompany, we try not to show that we are stressed…"

"It's a bit of a roulette game"

Alexandra's son wants to join a scientific preparatory class.

But his mother fears that he will not be accepted where he applies.

"Some people think it's a bit of a game of roulette," she says.

"It's really a game of chance, that's what's scary," says Alexandra.

"Some people will tell you that the cover letters are not looked at at all... That in the provinces, they don't take Parisians... We have the impression that there are not always justice."

Orientation: an obstacle course from the Second

"When a child doesn't know what he wants to do, how do you expect him to choose his specialties? It's impossible," she decrees.
