On May 31, 2021, the driver took to the road with a rental BMW despite having been deprived of a license since September 2020. He had been drinking heavily, smoking cannabis and was driving at 179 km / h on a limited road at 90 km/h at the time of the accident.

After several barrel rolls and a violent shock, the driver and two passengers escape but Aymen, the 20-year-old victim, dies almost instantly.

Judged for manslaughter, the defendant was not on his first traffic offense: speeding, driving without insurance or under the influence of alcohol.

In addition to his prison sentence, the defendant saw a previous reprieve of 4 months revoked and he will be prohibited from driving a motor vehicle for 3 years upon his release.

He will have to pay 30,000 euros in damages to each of the victim's parents.
