On Tuesday, the crown mountaineer of the year award was handed out by county governor Maria Arnholm at the county residence in Växjö.
The award is given to the person who has contributed to the county's development or who has shown a special interest in Kronoberg.
The prize is awarded in collaboration with the County Administrative Board.

This year, the prize winner is Gerteric Lindquist.

What have you done to deserve this?, he tells P4 Kronoberg when he accepts the award.
He continues:
- There are certainly many who deserve this.
Nibe is a team effort, then I am the team leader and that is why you are put in the spotlight in this way.
This would never have been possible if we hadn't worked as such a strong team.

The first to become this year's Crown Berger was Ingvar Kamprad in 1985.

The sporting surprise of the year and the year's zealot were also presented, where Isak Hughes – the sprinter from IFK Växjö and Hanz Henriksson and Håkan Henriksson, the brothers from Hovmantorp, were the winners.
