The Algerian Civil Protection announced the death of six members of one family in the eastern suburbs of the capital, from poisoning with carbon monoxide gas emitted from the water heater, which raises the number of deaths due to such accidents to 27 since the beginning of the year.

First Lieutenant Khalid bin Khalafallah said in a statement to Algerian state television: “Civil protection intervened on Sunday evening at 11:24 at night in the municipality of El Calitos to evacuate the bodies of six people from the same family, the father, mother and four children, all of whom died as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas emitted from a heater.” water".

He added, "The bodies were in the stage of putrefaction, and according to the testimony of the neighbors, family members have not appeared for at least four days."
