Politics First decision of the 'Guasp era' in Ciudadanos: "There will be no national slogan" for post-electoral pacts
Citizen Data: four months to avoid the final capsizing after the internal fracture and the loss of institutional power
General Assembly Arrimadas calls for unity in Ciudadanos after the battle with Bal: "Flashing us and blaming us we will not go back"
The problems of Ciudadanos return to the place from which they started: the parliamentary group.
The new leadership passed the ratification of the General Assembly
this weekend
, completed the re-foundation, premiered an image and came out
sewn up
after the "turbulent" primaries, as defined by members of the apparatus.
But the party has on the table today, on its first day at the controls of the ship, the complex debate about whether to maintain the current configuration in
Congress
or execute the first changes of its management in a delegation that is, at this time , the main tinderbox of the liberal formation.
Will Edmundo Bal continue as spokesman in the Lower House after leading the alternative candidacy to the Inés Arrimadas plan?
This is the question that has flown over the General Assembly of Citizens over the weekend and that no one in the new board, for now, dares to answer.
The first Executive of the new party, summoned for this Monday morning, will carefully study this and other possible internal movements.
In any case, the confirmation of Inés Arrimadas as leader of the parliamentary group by the new

dome entrenches positions and augurs an uncertain end to the legislature in the parliamentary group.
For now, the only support that Arrimadas has in Congress is that of the deputy for Málaga,
Guillermo Díaz
.
He was precisely the only parliamentarian who was part of his list, headed by the current leaders,
Patricia Guasp
and
Adrián Vázquez
, who have announced that in the near future they will address "changes" in the structure and Bal's position will be one of the first issues to be discussed.
However, the decision will not be easy in any case.
Seven of the nine deputies that make up the group have been opposed to Arrimadas's plan and most of them made up the top positions on Edmundo Bal's list.
The departure of the State lawyer from the spokesperson of the delegation or even from Congress could destabilize the existing counterweights and deepen the open fracture between its members, so everything suggests that the Executive will keep Bal in office, that he will continue depending on Arrimadas as she is the parliamentary leader.
Of course, the issue will be resolved this week and the problem will not last longer, say sources from the new management.
Integration in the Council
The national spokesperson for Ciudadanos, which until now has also been occupied by Bal, is another issue that will generate friction in the coming days.
In this regard, the continuity of the State lawyer is contradicted, while the figure of Guillermo Díaz, who in recent months has been the spokesman for the work team in charge of the refoundation, is gaining weight.
Since the results of the internal process were known, late last Thursday, Bal insists that both his future and that of the rest of the parliamentary group "must be decided by the party."
He himself tried this Sunday to reduce the tension after the primaries.
In total, of the 125 positions that make up the
General Council
of Citizens, Bal's candidacy has contributed 40 names in an act of "integration", as the State lawyer remarked after highlighting the gesture of Adrián Vázquez, the new secretary general

.
Among the members who are part of Bal's team and who will now constitute the General Council are several of the deputies related to him, such as
Sara Giménez, María del Carmen Martínez
or
Miguel Gutiérrez
.
Also
María Muñoz
, who chose not to be part of any list but finally voted for Bal.
The relationship between Arrimadas and Bal began to weaken after the elections in Andalusia, but it broke completely as a result of the favorable position of Ciudadanos regarding the law of
only yes is yes
.
The first sentence reductions broke Arrimadas' confidence in his
number two
, which opened up the parliamentary group.
It was the end of November and, since then, the internal war has been alive.
The small victory of the pro-government candidacy - 47% of the militancy avoided supporting it - keeps Bal's strategy active, which plans to present himself to the new internal process that will be organized in a few months to choose the candidate for the generals.
The role that he can play during these first months of the year will therefore be crucial in determining his aspirations in the face of the elections.
At the moment, as this newspaper has learned, there have been no conversations between the management and Bal to discuss his future performance in the game.
