The incident took place at an address in Olofström in October last year.
The 54-year-old victim was visiting a friend in Olofström – a man in his 40s – and they both drank beer, cooked and smoked cannabis.
During the evening, the now convicted man's mother called the home several times.
On one occasion, the guest answered and then asked the mother for "a date".
The conversation was overheard by the Olofström resident, who became enraged and attacked his friend with a cast-iron frying pan.
- You shouldn't talk to my mother like that, he is said to have said before he went on the attack.
Had to play dead
According to the investigation, a total of 15 blows were delivered, several to the head.
In the end, the 54-year-old pretended to be dead and then the beating stopped.
Instead, the perpetrator took out the phone and photographed the 54-year-old, who was lying lifeless in a pool of blood on the floor.
The picture was later spread on social media.
The man in his 40s is now sentenced for serious assault to prison for one year and eight months.
