Yeti Airlines flight from Kathamandu crashed just before landing in Pohkhara.

The plane, a twin-engine ATR-72 turboprop aircraft, had 72 people on board.

It crashed next to a difficult-to-access ravine and the rescue work was called off when darkness fell.

Four people are missing, but the hope that any of them would have survived is very small.

According to Jan Ohlsson, it is too early to speculate on the cause of the accident, but he describes the area as very dangerous for pilots as well as passengers.

- This is an extreme geography with many small airports between mountains, he tells SVT.

Nepal's finance minister stated on Sunday that the government will set up an investigation into Sunday's plane crash.
