Does incompetence rule in Germany?

Is expertise an obstacle to political office?

No, anyone who thinks that in general terms lacks an understanding of politics in a democracy.

A good politician does not necessarily need a higher education, nor does he necessarily need to have served professionally.

However, once he has been sworn in as a minister, it is not just the oath of office, but also the respect for the people entrusted to him that requires him to familiarize himself with every fibre.

Christine Lambrecht lacked this as Minister of Defense from the start.

And the holder of the authority to command and command didn't do any better, even in the face of the war in Ukraine.

Is the chancellor capable of learning?

The fact that the Bundeswehr was led and represented so miserably in this crucial phase, in the turning point proclaimed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, falls back on the head of government.

The former specialist politician and later self-proclaimed feminist had committed himself early and proudly to gender parity in the cabinet.

Such an apparently women-friendly proportional representation is an indictment of poverty, especially when it is so obviously at the expense of suitability - the consequences are not only visible in the federal government now.

It remains to be seen how capable the Chancellor is of learning.

Sticking to decisions is definitely valuable, especially in times of crisis.

However, stubbornness must not become a whim.

Responding appropriately to new situations must be the hallmark of government in times of war and crisis.

What does Ukraine need, which defends our values at great sacrifice against an aggressor?

What does our country need, what do our armed forces need in order to be prepared to maintain the free order and assert our interests?

Nobody can draw from the full, not even in terms of personnel.

But one thing the citizens can expect: a real effort to find the best solution.
