Another expert who was wrong in his stock market forecast for 2022 was Fredrik Warg, then head of equity trading at Swedbank.

According to him, the stock exchange has undergone an interest rate increase during the year, which he describes as extreme.

What is the most important thing you take with you from the stock market year?

- Having the right risk in the portfolio because no matter who you talk to, everyone has their own view of risk.

How much can I manage in a downturn before I get sick to my stomach and have to sell.

Because we don't want that to happen.

Forced guesses?

When savings economists participate in various media, they are often asked what the future will look like on the stock market.

What do you think about the great desire for just such searches?

Will there be pressure on you as experts to deliver?

- It is clear that it is more fun with an expert who says that the stock market will go up by 25 percent next year than someone who reasons about pros and cons and gives a vague picture of the future.

I understand that there is a demand for exact figures, but over the years I have become a little more cautious about giving specific forecasts, says Maria Landeborn, savings economist at Danske bank.

"Toughest question of them all"

And even though you may not want to, here comes the question again: what will the stock market be like in 2023?

- The companies on the stock exchange are still doing well and generating strong profits.

That is what is important.

So I guess I have to remain an optimist and say that the stock market can go up that 15 percent if it's a good year, says Joakim Bornold, investment manager at Levler.

- I dare to say that it will continue to be turbulent on the market during the first half of the year, then it will be decided how deep the economic downturn will be, says Maria Landeborn.
