It was around 4 p.m. when a missile alert went off and a huge explosion rang out in the center of town.

In this residential area facing the Dnieper River, an entire section of a building bar collapsed on itself.

A huge gaping hole is visible in place of the building, now reduced to dust.

On this Saturday, everyone was at home, a resident whispers to us.

People are screaming and calling their loved ones.

A man shouts “dad” into the void.

Rescuers keep bystanders away.

A woman tries to pass the security cordon.

She tries to signal to her loved ones, two shadows leaning on an intact balcony just a few meters from the gaping hole left by the collapse of the building.

My daughter and my husband are on the 7th floor

, says the woman.

Thank God they are alive.

They are not injured.

But I'm mad

!

The Russians have to pay.

Let's eliminate them all.

I hate them.

I hate them.

Ambulances come and go.

Relief and volunteers are busy.

Large bloodstains strewn the ground.

A person's lifeless body is carried out on a stretcher.

Under the mountain of rubble, probably dozens of victims, at least.

"

We arrived as soon as we heard about the incident

," says Olga Vilhovska, a volunteer.

Russian occupation forces target residential buildings.

But everything will be fine, they won't break us.

We have become strong.

The number of victims?

We're still establishing it…

” His voice breaks.

With help, they will spend the whole night at least clearing the debris in the hope of finding survivors.
