When the father attacked two of his children and their mother in October 2021, the act shook the entire small community outside Lycksele.

All were treated for serious injuries after the attack.

The verdict against the man, who is in his 50s, was two counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated assault.

A forensic psychiatric examination showed that the man suffered from a serious mental disorder and he was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.

Wants leave on my own

The man has so-called clearance, which means he has permission to stay outside the care department, but within the area of the health care facility.

But he has also been granted several leaves of absence.

The first leave was in November and after that the man has applied for more at regular intervals.

The man has now applied to have leave on his own.

The chief doctor states that the man's condition has gradually stabilized and he shows a good general mental condition.

He accepts medication and functions well in the ward.

Administrative law: "Escalated"

But the prosecutor does not think that this should be granted on the grounds that the man has been convicted of a very serious crime.

He also points out that the mother of the children objects to the leave as she would be in the area that day.

The man has a contact ban on the children's mother and the children.

"Because XXX is convicted of particularly serious violent crimes such as

have been directed at two of his minor children, the attitude expressed by the prosecutor and the children's guardian deserves to be taken into account to a great extent," writes the prosecutor in the justification.

The administrative court writes in its decision that "the applications for leave rapidly escalated".

The administrative court rejects the man's application for leave and states that it is partly too extensive and partly inappropriate in terms of place and time.
