Ma Xiaowei said that since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, President Xi Jinping has emphasized the need to uphold the supremacy of the people and life, resolutely win the fight against the epidemic, protect the lives and health of the Chinese people, and coordinate epidemic prevention and economic and social development to the greatest extent.
China has shared information with the World Health Organization and other countries since the early stage of the epidemic, was the first to identify the pathogen and shared its gene sequence, and established a technical exchange mechanism with the World Health Organization.
Since China took the initiative to optimize and adjust the epidemic prevention and control policy according to the time and situation, the two sides have carried out many technical exchanges.
China will, as always, support the World Health Organization in playing its role and unite the international community to fight the epidemic together.
Tedros highly appreciated the Chinese government's efforts to deal with the new crown epidemic, and thanked China for its long-term technical exchanges and sharing of epidemic information and data with the World Health Organization.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, and jointly maintain global health security.
