“The key point here is the wider geopolitical picture, where Russia wants to make a new deal with the West, primarily with the United States,” Kalyn was quoted by TASS.
A big deal between Russia and the Western bloc will have to settle some big geopolitical issues between the parties, he said.
He noted that in the absence of a deal, the Ukrainian conflict could drag on for a long time.
Kalyn also said that any plan for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine would fail without taking into account the opinion of Russia.
