Britain: Moscow moves its naval fleet for fear of an attack

The British Ministry of Defense wrote in its intelligence update on the war in Ukraine that Russia has moved more than ten ships of its Black Sea fleet from the Novorossiysk naval base, fearing a Ukrainian attack.

"Considering the type and number of ships going to sea at the same time, the activity is most likely a fleet allocation in response to a specific threat to Novorossiysk that Russia believes has been identified," the Defense Ministry wrote in a tweet.

Britain's Ministry of Defense said it was "unlikely" that the move was preparation for Russian cruise missile attacks, and that it was "highly unlikely" that the fleet was preparing for amphibious assault operations.
