Xinhua News Agency, Lima, January 13 (Reporter Hao Yunfu) La Paz news: Bolivian Foreign Minister Rogelio Maita issued a statement on the 13th, criticizing the remarks made by senior US officials on the situation in Bolivia in violation of international law and interfering in Bolivia's internal affairs.

Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols said on Twitter on the 12th that he was "concerned by the violence that has occurred in Bolivia since December 28 last year."

On December 28 last year, the Bolivian government raided and arrested the far-right opposition leader Camacho who participated in the political incident that led to the forced resignation of Bolivian President Morales at the end of 2019.

Camacho supporters clashed violently with police during the ensuing protests.

In response to Nichols' remarks, Mehta said that all countries should abide by the principles of mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, and Nichols' remarks expressing "concern" about the domestic situation in Bolivia are inappropriate.

He emphasized that in view of the unique national conditions of each country, the Bolivian government has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and never made false comments on the internal affairs of other countries.
