Today, Saturday, the White House lawyer announced the discovery of 5 additional pages bearing confidentiality classifications in the home of US President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, and that they were immediately handed over to the Ministry of Justice.

Attorney Richard Soper explained that these five pages were discovered the day before yesterday, Thursday, when he arrived at Biden's home to supervise the delivery of another document, previously discovered, to the Ministry of Justice.

"When I was handing it over to the officials of the Ministry of Justice who accompanied me, 5 additional secret pages were discovered ... for a total of 6 pages. They were immediately received by officials of the Ministry of Justice," Sober said in a statement.

The lawyer confirmed that the White House will cooperate with the independent special investigator appointed by the Attorney General on Thursday to investigate whether Biden retained these documents, and if there was any violation of the law.

The Republicans' account in the US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee commented on Twitter, saying, "How many secret documents will they find in Joe Biden's house?"

According to US media, a total of about 20 pages of secret documents were found, the first group of which was discovered in a former office of Biden in Washington, DC, and the subsequent groups were found in the garage of his home in Wilmington, all of which date back to the era when he was Vice President Barack Obama.

Biden used to spend his weekends at his home in Wilmington.

Next to the Corvette

A journalist asked Biden on Thursday about the wisdom of storing important documents "next to his Corvette," and the Democratic president, known for his love of cars, confirmed that they were inside a closed garage.

"It's not like it's been dumped in the street," Biden said. "People know I take classified documents and classified materials very seriously."

And CNN reported last Tuesday that the documents discovered in Biden's former office in Washington include 10 classified documents containing intelligence reports and other materials related to Ukraine, Iran and Britain, all of which dated between 2013 and 2016.

This case has drawn comparisons between Biden's behavior and the investigation into the documents he kept, and the ongoing investigation with his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump, who had confidential documents confiscated at his Florida home after leaving office.

The first group of Biden's secret documents was discovered a week before the midterm congressional elections that took place in November of last year, but the White House did not talk about the issue until last Monday, which made Republicans accuse him of obfuscating the matter for partisan political reasons.
