His music has been compared to Simon and Garfunkel and the American influences are probably noticeable.

He wrote the solo album that came out in 2018 during his travels on the other side of the Atlantic, where he hitchhiked around and partly made a living as a street musician for almost three years.

Before that, he was the guitarist in the indie pop band Billie the vision and the dancers, but now plays solo.

Since only a few months ago, he has been a resident of Karlstad and has a new type of trip ahead of him: the Kulturbygdsturnén.

It is an initiative that the National Association of Village Halls started with the help of a grant from the State Council for Culture, and John Dunsö is one of 24 cultural practitioners who each tour the village halls in their home region.

The tour runs until the end of May and includes 15 gigs and four workshops.
