The CGT Petroleum called, Thursday, January 12, for several days of strike in the wake of the national mobilization against the pension reform.

The union is planning strikes on January 19 and 26, as well as February 6 with "if necessary, the shutdown of refining facilities", according to a press release issued by Éric Sellini, the union's national coordinator for TotalEnergies.

The movement must begin with a first work stoppage of 24 hours on January 19, the day of the national interprofessional mobilization.

For January 26, the CGT calls for a 48-hour strike, then 72 hours on February 6.

The appeal will lead to "decreases in flow" and stoppages in the shipment of fuels, Éric Sellini told AFP, a few months after the vast mobilization for a wage increase which had taken place in refineries and depots. oil, with significant fuel supply difficulties in France.

"There is a right to strike, there is a right to demonstrate", reacted Elisabeth Borne, but "it is also important not to penalize the French".

"For the unions, this is a call for responsibility," said the Prime Minister on the sidelines of a trip to Disneyland Paris.

The Quai d'Orsay joins the movement

A strike notice has been filed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join the national movement of January 19 against the government's pension reform project, the inter-union announced Thursday to AFP, stressing that it was a question of 'a first".

“The notice was filed on Wednesday evening. This is the first time that a very large inter-union from the Quai has joined a national slogan,” she said.

The intersyndicale includes the CFTC, the CGT, the FSU, Solidaires, an Asam union which is affiliated with Unsa and the APMAE union, she said.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are particularly concerned that the government will abolish the system "of bonuses of three or six months per year" enjoyed by civil servants who are posted outside Europe.
