More than fifteen firefighters and five machines were mobilized.

The fire started in the attic of the school and smoke was seen billowing from the roof of the establishment.

The flames damaged a room, a corridor and the library.

Cause of fire unknown

The fire did not cause any injuries, the 126 students of the school not being on site that day.

The establishment will remain closed this Thursday and Friday.

From this Monday, the children will be welcomed in another school until the reopening of theirs.

We still do not know the origin and the circumstances of this outbreak of fire.

“Everything must be cleaned and the electrical installations checked,” said an assistant from the Rouen town hall in charge of schools.

Officials hope to reopen the establishment in the middle of next week.
