Yemen.. Houthi escalation in Marib and violation of the Stockholm Agreement in Hodeidah

The terrorist Houthi militia has intensified its bombing of the Yemeni army and resistance positions on the southern Marib fronts, as part of its ongoing combat escalation since its refusal to extend the UN armistice in October of last year.

Field sources in Marib stated that the militias expanded their escalation operations against the army and the resistance in Marib today, through intense shelling and infiltration attempts on the fronts south of Marib, the Raghwan fronts northwest of the province, and the Al-Kassara front in Sirwah, west of Marib.

The sources indicated that the militias have already launched the attack that they had prepared for during the period of the UN armistice, which began in early April 2022, in implementation of their threats to move to the stage of escalation and fighting to achieve their arbitrary goals that are rejected by Yemen, regionally and internationally.

According to the sources, the al-Aarif front in the al-Ramli axis witnessed the largest Houthi attacks, as it was confronted by the army and the resistance, with 17 dead and a number of wounded, as well as the booty of 20 various weapons.

The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, confirmed that the current year will be the year of decisiveness and victory, the restoration of the state and the overthrow of the Houthi coup, pointing to the readiness of the army and resistance forces to fight the liberation battle.

On the other hand, security sources in Marib revealed that there are movements of al-Qaeda members on the side of the Houthis on the battle fronts, who were brought in from the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, which witnessed a military operation against them by the southern forces.

She explained that the movements of al-Qaeda elements coincided with the movements of foreign experts on the battle fronts to supervise missile launches and booby-trapped marches, and to draw battle plans on the field.

In Saada, field sources in the Shada district confirmed the presence of large-scale Houthi movements in the district, despite being targeted by the army during the past two days, represented by the transfer of weapons and the development of sites, which prompted the bombing today also with heavy artillery by the forces stationed in the district.

On the western coast, the joint forces denounced the Houthi militia's formation of a combat brigade in the Al-Durayhimi district, in clear violation of the Stockholm Agreement, indicating through its official spokesman, Colonel Sadiq Dwaid, that this is a breach of international agreements and puts the United Nations in front of a real test to reconsider dealing with the Houthi militia.

In Sana'a, two children died and a third was injured as a result of a militia mine explosion in the Nehm district. The same thing happened in Lahj governorate, where a civilian died and three others were injured in a militia explosion in Dhi al-Amki area in the Yafaa border district with al-Bayda.

Militias had shelled the village of Balad al-Haid - al-Hadba, in Yafaa Lahj, with artillery shells, wounding a child and three civilians, including a woman.

For its part, the Yemeni Landmine Observatory reported that militia mines have killed and injured 16 civilians, half of them children, since the beginning of this year.
